What is PCT?

PCT stands for post-cycle therapy. In research terms it means restarting the hypothalamus-pituitary-testes axis after something has shut it down. SERMs block estrogen’s feedback at the pituitary, so LH and FSH rise. Aromatase inhibitors cut how much testosterone turns into estrogen.

HCG acts on the LH receptor directly, and kisspeptin works one level higher, telling the hypothalamus to release GnRH. Finasteride and dutasteride block 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme that makes DHT.

How to choose PCT

Enclomiphene is the cleanest SERM for raising LH, since it’s the active half of clomiphene without the long-lasting zuclomiphene. Tamoxifen and raloxifene are better studied for tissue-specific estrogen effects.

Anastrozole and letrozole are reversible aromatase inhibitors, while exemestane binds the enzyme permanently. Most of these come as liquids, capsules or tablets.
