Description

Indole 3 Carbinol is a cruciferous vegetable compound, and Pure Rawz sells it as capsules. Every batch is tested for 99% purity or better, and it’s sold for laboratory research only.

Indole 3 Carbinol explained

Indole-3-carbinol is made when broccoli, cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables are cut or chewed, from the breakdown of glucobrassicin. In stomach acid it forms DIM and other condensation products.

It’s studied for its effects on estrogen metabolism.

How it acts in research models

I3C and DIM switch on the aryl hydrocarbon receptor, which raises CYP1A1 and CYP1A2 enzymes. Those enzymes favor the 2-hydroxy route of estrogen breakdown.

It also affects cell cycle and apoptosis signaling in cancer cell lines.

Published Indole 3 Carbinol research

Small trials, such as Michnovicz’s 1997 study, reported that I3C shifted estrogen metabolism toward 2-hydroxyestrone. It’s also studied in cervical and breast tissue research.

Animal results have been mixed, with both protective and promoting effects reported.

Options and prices

Choose the option that fits your study:

  • Capsules, 150mg per capsule/30ct/4.5g: $19.11
  • Capsules, 150mg per capsule/60ct/9g: $34.41

The capsules are pre-filled, so each one has the same amount. The size option lists it per capsule.

Using Indole 3 Carbinol in the lab

Research on hormone support compounds usually measures LH, FSH, testosterone, estradiol and SHBG, often during recovery after androgen exposure. Timing of blood draws matters because these hormones change through the day.

Aromatase inhibitors, SERMs and gonadotropin-type compounds act at different points in the hormone axis, so studies often compare them directly.

A typical panel covers total and free testosterone, LH, FSH, estradiol, SHBG and prolactin, with lipids and liver enzymes for safety. Fertility studies add sperm counts.

Purity and batch testing

Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.

Storage and shelf life

Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Note the batch number and the date you opened it in your lab records.

Safe handling

Treat it as a lab chemical. Gloves and safety glasses are the minimum, and a clean, uncluttered workspace cuts down on mix-ups.

Store prepared solutions apart from untouched stock, and record who mixed what and when.

What you’ll need

  • nothing extra for capsules or tablets, as each unit is pre-measured
  • a dry, sealed container if you split a bottle between projects
