Description

Our Eutropoflavin is a flavone TrkB agonist, supplied as capsules. Each batch is checked for 99%+ purity. It’s intended for research use only.

About Eutropoflavin

4′-Dimethylamino-7,8-dihydroxyflavone (eutropoflavin) is a synthetic derivative of 7,8-DHF. The dimethylamino group was added to make it more potent at the TrkB receptor.

It’s sold here as the free base.

How it works

Eutropoflavin activates the TrkB receptor more strongly than 7,8-DHF, switching on the same BDNF-type signaling that supports neuron survival.

The dimethylamino group also improves how much reaches the brain.

Published Eutropoflavin research

Liu and colleagues reported in 2010 that it was a stronger TrkB agonist than 7,8-DHF and had antidepressant-like effects in mice.

Data beyond that are limited.

Eutropoflavin sizes and forms

It comes in one option (Capsules, 10mg per capsule/60ct/600mg), priced at $30.88.

The capsules are pre-filled, so each one has the same amount. The size option lists it per capsule.

Using Eutropoflavin in the lab

Cognition studies often test a compound in a deficit model, for example after sleep loss, stress or a drug that impairs memory, because effects are easier to see there than in healthy animals.

Start with the smallest size to confirm solubility and handling, then scale up once the protocol is set.

Cognition studies mostly score behavior, such as maze learning or object recognition. Many also measure something in brain tissue afterwards, like BDNF or acetylcholine.

Quality and testing

Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.

Storage and shelf life

Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.

Handling notes

Wear gloves and eye protection when you open or measure it, and work on a clean surface.

Label everything you prepare, keep it away from food areas, and follow your lab’s rules for disposing of sharps and chemical waste.

What you’ll need

  • nothing extra for capsules or tablets, as each unit is pre-measured
  • a dry, sealed container if you split a bottle between projects
