Description
Blue Lotus is a Nymphaea caerulea extract, and Pure Rawz sells it as a powder. Every batch is tested for 99% purity or better, and it’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is Blue Lotus?
Blue lotus is Nymphaea caerulea, a water lily from the Nile that shows up often in ancient Egyptian art. Ours is a 30:1 extract.
Its main alkaloids are aporphine and nuciferine.
How it works
Aporphine is a dopamine agonist, and nuciferine acts on several serotonin and dopamine receptors. Those actions are thought to cause the mild calming effects reported.
Because data are thin, it’s a lightly characterized botanical.
Blue Lotus research
Published research is mostly chemical analysis and a few animal studies. There are no controlled human trials.
It’s sold mainly for relaxation research.
The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search to start from.
Options and prices
Choose the option that fits your study:
- Powder, 10g: $16.91
- Powder, 20g: $31.13
- Powder, 30g: $40.98
Powder suits labs that want to make their own solutions or capsules. Weigh it on a milligram scale.
Study design notes
Botanical and mushroom research usually starts by checking the extract’s marker compounds, such as polysaccharides, alkaloids or flavonoids, then moves to cell culture or animal models of inflammation, immunity or metabolism.
Extracts vary by source and method, so labs keep to one batch through a study and record the standardization on the label.
Keep a retained sample of the batch you used. If you need to check a result later, you’ll have the same material to test.
Blue Lotus at a glance
- Compound: Blue Lotus
- Also known as: Nymphaea caerulea, blue water lily
- Class: Nymphaea caerulea extract
- Forms: powder
- Options: 3 sizes and forms
- Purity: 99% or higher, verified by first- and third-party testing

Quality and testing
Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.
Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.
Storage and shelf life
Keep the container sealed at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and sunlight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.
Handling notes
Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.
Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.
Supplies to have on hand
- a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
- a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol
