Description
Pure Rawz Kanna is a Sceletium tortuosum extract (mesembrine alkaloids), available as tablets and a powder. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.
About Kanna
Kanna is Sceletium tortuosum, a succulent from South Africa used for centuries by the San and Khoikhoi people. Its active compounds are the mesembrine alkaloids.
Our extracts come in 10:1, 30:1 and 200:1 strengths, as tablets and powder.
How it works
Mesembrine is a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, and mesembrenone also blocks phosphodiesterase 4. Together those actions are thought to explain its mood and anti-anxiety effects.
Higher extract ratios hold more alkaloid per gram.
Published Kanna research
Terburg and colleagues reported in 2013 that a standardized extract reduced amygdala reactivity to fearful faces in healthy people. Other small trials looked at mood and stress.
A patented extract, Zembrin, has most of the human data.

How labs use it
Plant extracts contain many compounds, so a common design compares the whole extract with its main isolated compound to see which effects come from which.
Write the extract ratio or standardization into your methods. It’s the detail reviewers ask about first.
Keep a retained sample of the batch you used. If you need to check a result later, you’ll have the same material to test.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.
Storage and shelf life
Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Write the date you opened or mixed it on the label, so anyone else in the lab knows how old it is.
Handling notes
Wear gloves and eye protection when you open or measure it, and work on a clean surface.
Label everything you prepare, keep it away from food areas, and follow your lab’s rules for disposing of sharps and chemical waste.
Before you start
- a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
