Description

Our Thymalfasin is a thymic peptide, supplied as freeze-dried vials. Each batch is checked for 99%+ purity. It’s intended for research use only.

About Thymalfasin

Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide first isolated from thymus tissue. It acts on T-cell maturation and innate immune signaling.

A synthetic form, thymalfasin (Zadaxin), is approved in some countries outside the US for hepatitis B and C.

How it acts in research models

Thymosin alpha-1 acts on toll-like receptors, especially TLR2 and TLR9, on dendritic cells and other immune cells. That activates downstream signaling that helps T cells mature and shapes the response toward Th1 immunity.

It’s studied as an adjuvant alongside vaccines and in chronic viral infection models, where the goal is a stronger T-cell response without broad overstimulation.

What studies say about Thymalfasin

Clinical work on thymalfasin covers chronic hepatitis B and as an immune adjuvant, reviewed by Goldstein and colleagues.

Lab studies describe its action through toll-like receptors on dendritic cells.

Choosing your option

It comes in 2 options. Pick one from the dropdown above the cart button:

  • Peptide, 10mg: $65.98
  • Peptide, 20mg: $119.48

These vials are lyophilized powder. Mix them with bacteriostatic water when you’re ready to work with them, and keep unmixed vials cold until then.

Using Thymalfasin in the lab

Researchers who work with peptides tend to order a small vial first to check solubility and handling, then move to larger sizes once the protocol is settled.

Keep a log of the batch number, the mixing date and the volume of water used. If results drift between runs, those three details are usually where the answer is.

A typical peptide study plan lists the model, the endpoints, the form you’ll use, and how long each vial will last once mixed. Writing that down first makes ordering simple, because it tells you the size and number of vials you need.

Mixing and concentration

For the 10mg vial, the concentration depends on the volume of water:

  • 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 10mg/mL
  • 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
  • 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 3.33mg/mL

Add the water slowly along the inside of the vial and roll it gently until the powder dissolves. Shaking can damage peptide chains.

How we test each batch

Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.

How to store Thymalfasin

Freeze-dried vials keep best in the freezer, and a fridge is fine for a few weeks. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated and finish it within roughly 28 days. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.

Working with it safely

Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.

Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.

What you’ll need

  • Bacteriostatic Water for reconstitution, or Sterile Water if you’ll use the whole vial at once
  • sterile insulin-type syringes or pipettes for measuring
  • alcohol swabs for the vial stopper

Thymalfasin FAQ

Can it be used in people or animals?

No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.

What do I mix it with?

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water. Add it slowly down the side of the vial and swirl gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it.

How should I store it?

Follow the storage section above. In short: cold and dark for freeze-dried vials, room temperature and dry for capsules, tablets, powders and liquids, unless the label says otherwise.

What forms does it come in?

Freeze-dried vials. Pick the one you want from the dropdown on this page.

Is Thymalfasin in stock?

Yes. It’s in stock and ships from our warehouse after your order clears.

Does it come with a certificate of analysis?

Yes. Every batch is tested, and we’ll email the certificate of analysis for your batch number on request.
