Description

Our N-Acetyl PT-141 is an acetylated melanocortin receptor agonist, supplied for lab research. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.

N-Acetyl PT-141 explained

N-Acetyl PT-141 is bremelanotide (PT-141) with an extra acetyl group on the N-terminus. Bremelanotide itself is a cyclic heptapeptide melanocortin agonist, approved as Vyleesi for low sexual desire in premenopausal women.

The acetyl cap is added to slow breakdown by enzymes that attack the free end of peptides.

How it acts in research models

PT-141 activates melanocortin MC3 and MC4 receptors in the brain, which is thought to drive its effects on sexual arousal. It acts centrally, not on blood vessels like PDE5 inhibitors.

N-terminal acetylation is a common way to protect peptides from aminopeptidases.

Published N-Acetyl PT-141 research

The bremelanotide research base includes the RECONNECT phase 3 trials, published in 2019, which reported improvements in desire scores compared with placebo.

Published data on the N-acetyl form specifically are limited, so it’s best treated as a modified research analog.

Using N-Acetyl PT-141 in the lab

Researchers who work with peptides tend to order a small vial first to check solubility and handling, then move to larger sizes once the protocol is settled.

Keep a log of the batch number, the mixing date and the volume of water used. If results drift between runs, those three details are usually where the answer is.

If you’re new to a peptide, read two or three of the original papers before you start. They’ll show which endpoints moved, which didn’t, and how other labs set up their controls.

Quality and testing

We test each batch for identity and purity before it ships, using HPLC and mass spectrometry, with independent third-party checks on top of our own.

The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, ask us for it and we’ll email it over.

Storage and shelf life

Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Note the batch number and the date you opened it in your lab records.

Handling notes

Wear gloves and eye protection when you open or measure it, and work on a clean surface.

Label everything you prepare, keep it away from food areas, and follow your lab’s rules for disposing of sharps and chemical waste.
