Description
Pure Rawz Orexin B is a hypothalamic neuropeptide (hypocretin-2). Every batch is tested for 99% purity or better, and it’s sold for laboratory research only.
What is Orexin B?
Orexin B, or hypocretin-2, is a 28-amino-acid linear neuropeptide cut from the same precursor as orexin A. It’s made by the same neurons in the lateral hypothalamus.
It has no disulfide bonds, so it breaks down faster than orexin A.
Mechanism of action
Orexin B binds OX2R much more strongly than OX1R. OX2R is the receptor most tied to keeping the brain awake.
That selectivity is why labs studying OX2R-driven wakefulness use orexin B as the reference agonist.
Published Orexin B research
Research on orexin B overlaps with orexin A and covers sleep, wakefulness, feeding and arousal. Because it prefers the OX2 receptor, it’s useful for separating the two receptor pathways.
Its role in narcolepsy comes from the same loss of orexin neurons.

How labs use it
Cognition studies often test a compound in a deficit model, for example after sleep loss, stress or a drug that impairs memory, because effects are easier to see there than in healthy animals.
Start with the smallest size to confirm solubility and handling, then scale up once the protocol is set.
Test a range of amounts if you can. Many cognition compounds have an inverted-U response, where too much works worse than a moderate amount.

How we test each batch
We test each batch for identity and purity before it ships, using HPLC and mass spectrometry, with independent third-party checks on top of our own.
The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, ask us for it and we’ll email it over.
Keeping it fresh
Keep the container sealed at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and sunlight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.
Working with it safely
Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.
Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.
