Description
Aniracetam is a racetam, and Pure Rawz sells it as a powder. Every batch is tested for 99% purity or better, and it’s sold for laboratory research only.
Aniracetam explained
Aniracetam is a fat-soluble racetam from Roche. It’s a positive modulator of AMPA receptors.
It’s sold as a prescription drug in some European countries.
How it works
Racetams don’t bind one receptor strongly. Most of the evidence points to positive modulation of AMPA glutamate receptors and better acetylcholine use in the hippocampus, which are both tied to memory formation.
Effects in animals are clearest in deficit models, such as after scopolamine or aging, and much smaller in healthy animals.
What studies say about Aniracetam
Ito and colleagues reported in 1990 that aniracetam slowed AMPA receptor desensitization.
Small clinical studies looked at dementia.
It’s broken down quickly in the body, and some of its activity is thought to come from its metabolites, including N-anisoyl-GABA.
The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search to start from.
Aniracetam sizes and forms
Choose the option that fits your study:
- Powder, 10g: $60.24
- Powder, 30g: $130.25
The powder is the bulk form, for labs that weigh their own amounts. Use a milligram scale for accuracy.
How labs use it
Nootropic research usually uses memory and learning tests in rodents, such as maze tasks, object recognition or fear conditioning, along with markers like BDNF or receptor binding.
Behavioral tests are sensitive to handling and time of day, so labs keep both constant and score results blind. A vehicle group run on the same day is the most useful control.
Cognition studies mostly score behavior, such as maze learning or object recognition. Many also measure something in brain tissue afterwards, like BDNF or acetylcholine.
Aniracetam at a glance
- Compound: Aniracetam
- Also known as: Ro 13-5057
- Class: racetam
- Forms: powder
- Options: 2 sizes and forms
- Purity: 99% or higher, verified by first- and third-party testing

Quality and testing
We test each batch for identity and purity before it ships, using HPLC and mass spectrometry, with independent third-party checks on top of our own.
The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, ask us for it and we’ll email it over.
How to store Aniracetam
Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.
Working with it safely
Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.
Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.
What you’ll need
- a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
- a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol

- Magnesium L-Threonate Capsules: Magnesium L-threonate is magnesium bound to L-threonic acid, a vitamin C metabolite.
- Phenylpiracetam Carphedon: Carphedon is the original name for phenylpiracetam (fonturacetam), a phenyl-substituted piracetam developed in Russia in 1983.
- Agmatine Sulfate: Agmatine is made in the body from arginine and works as a neuromodulator.

How it compares
Piracetam: Piracetam (2-oxo-1-pyrrolidineacetamide) was the first racetam, made by UCB in Belgium in the 1960s. Corneliu Giurgea coined the word nootropic to describe it.
Ramelteon: Ramelteon is a melatonin receptor agonist developed by Takeda and approved as Rozerem for trouble falling asleep.
