What is Dihexa?

Dihexa is a small peptide-like compound from Washington State University, based on angiotensin IV. It acts on the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) receptor, c-Met.

It was designed to cross into the brain.

How it works

Dihexa binds hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and helps it pair up and activate its receptor, c-Met. In the brain, the HGF/c-Met system supports new synapses and connections between neurons.

It was built from angiotensin IV and tuned to be stable and to get past the blood-brain barrier. In rat models it increased dendritic spine growth, the physical sites where synapses form.

Published Dihexa research

McCoy and colleagues reported in 2013 that Dihexa improved memory in rats and boosted synapse formation.
