About Urolithin B
Urolithin B is another gut bacteria metabolite of ellagitannins. It has one fewer hydroxyl group than urolithin A.
It’s studied in muscle and brain.
Mechanism of action
Urolithin B is reported to support muscle protein synthesis and reduce protein breakdown in mouse muscle, and to have anti-inflammatory effects in brain cells.
It’s less studied than urolithin A.

Rodriguez and colleagues reported in 2017 that it increased muscle protein synthesis in mice.
