T3 (Liothyronine)

Liothyronine is synthetic T3, triiodothyronine, the active form of thyroid hormone. The thyroid makes mostly T4, and tissues convert it to T3, which does most of the work inside cells.

T3 enters the cell and binds thyroid hormone receptors (TR-alpha and TR-beta) in the nucleus. The receptor is already sitting on DNA, and T3 binding swaps its co-repressors for co-activators, so target genes switch on.

Yohimbine HCl

Yohimbine is an indole alkaloid from the bark of the African yohimbe tree (Pausinystalia johimbe). The HCl salt is the standard form.

Yohimbine blocks alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, which normally act as a brake on noradrenaline release. With the brake removed, noradrenaline rises and fat cells break down more fat.
