Description

Pure Rawz Setipiprant is a DP2 (CRTH2) receptor antagonist, available as a powder. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.

What is Setipiprant?

Setipiprant is an oral antagonist of the prostaglandin D2 receptor DP2, also called CRTH2. Actelion first developed it for allergy and asthma.

It’s now studied mainly for male pattern hair loss.

Mechanism of action

Setipiprant blocks DP2, so prostaglandin D2 can’t send its signal. In hair follicles that signal appears to stop growth, and in allergy it recruits inflammatory cells.

It doesn’t touch androgen pathways, which makes it a different approach from finasteride.

What studies say about Setipiprant

Garza and colleagues reported in Science Translational Medicine (2012) that prostaglandin D2 is high in balding scalp and blocks hair growth through DP2. A phase 2 trial of setipiprant in hair loss followed.

Earlier allergy trials showed it was well tolerated.

Setipiprant sizes and forms

This listing is 5g of powder for $55.73.

The powder is the bulk form, for labs that weigh their own amounts. Use a milligram scale for accuracy.

How labs use it

Researchers use reference compounds to anchor a study: if the known drug gives the expected result, the model is behaving. Then the new compound can be compared against it.

Use the published pharmacology as your starting point and record the exact form, such as the salt or the solution strength.

Endpoints follow the drug’s known pharmacology: blood pressure and heart rate for cardiovascular compounds, receptor binding or enzyme activity for assay work, or the specific tissue response the drug is known for.

How we test each batch

We test each batch for identity and purity before it ships, using HPLC and mass spectrometry, with independent third-party checks on top of our own.

The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, ask us for it and we’ll email it over.

Keeping it fresh

Keep the container sealed at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and sunlight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.

Safe handling

Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.

Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.

Supplies to have on hand

  • a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
  • a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol
