Description
Our Vesugen is a tripeptide bioregulator, supplied for lab research. Each batch is checked for 99%+ purity. It’s intended for research use only.
About Vesugen
Vesugen is the tripeptide Lys-Glu-Asp, one of the short peptides Khavinson’s bioregulator program linked to blood vessel walls.
It comes from the bioregulator program led by Vladimir Khavinson at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, which proposed that very short peptides can bind DNA and switch particular genes on or off in specific tissues.
Mechanism of action
Khavinson’s group proposes that these very short peptides enter cells and bind specific DNA sequences or histone proteins, nudging gene expression in the tissue they’re named for. In cell culture that shows up as changes in protein synthesis and cell aging markers.
This model comes mostly from one research group and hasn’t been widely replicated, so measure your own tissue markers and run a vehicle control.
Published Vesugen research
Published work on it comes almost entirely from Khavinson’s group and other Russian labs, mostly cell culture studies of gene expression in blood vessel walls cells, plus some rodent work.
Independent replication outside Russia is limited, so it’s best treated as an early-stage research peptide.
The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search to start from.
Choosing your option
This listing is a single 20mg size, priced at $61.78.
Study design notes
These short peptides are usually tested in the tissue they’re named for, such as pineal, thymus or liver cells. Aged animals or senescent cell lines are the common models.
Plan for small effects. Larger sample sizes help when the expected change is modest.
Short peptides are cheap to run in parallel, so many labs test two or three related bioregulators side by side in the same cell line.
Vesugen at a glance
- Compound: Vesugen
- Also known as: Lys-Glu-Asp
- Class: tripeptide bioregulator
- Size: 20mg
- Purity: 99% or higher, verified by first- and third-party testing
- Use: laboratory research only
Quality and testing
We test each batch for identity and purity before it ships, using HPLC and mass spectrometry, with independent third-party checks on top of our own.
The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, ask us for it and we’ll email it over.
How to store Vesugen
Keep the container sealed at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and sunlight. Note the batch number and the date you opened it in your lab records.
Safe handling
Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.
Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.
