About Sermorelin

Sermorelin is GHRH(1-29), the first 29 amino acids of growth hormone releasing hormone. It’s the shortest fully active piece of GHRH.

It was FDA-approved as Geref for pediatric GH deficiency and later withdrawn for commercial reasons.

How it works

Sermorelin is the shortest piece of GHRH that still works. It binds the GHRH receptor on the pituitary and triggers growth hormone release.

Because it works through the body’s own GH control, the pituitary’s feedback loops stay intact. The trade-off is a very short half-life.

Clinical work in the 1990s studied it in children with GH deficiency and in older adults.

The vials hold a freeze-dried (lyophilized) powder under a sealed stopper. Freeze-drying keeps the peptide stable in transit. You add sterile bacteriostatic water to dissolve it before use.

The nasal spray comes ready to use in a metered bottle, so there’s nothing to mix. The size shows how much each spray delivers and the total in the bottle.

The sublingual tablets are pre-measured. The option tells you the amount per tablet, the count and the total.

Using Sermorelin in the lab

Growth hormone research usually measures GH pulses and IGF-1 in blood, and sometimes body composition. Because GH comes in pulses, sampling time matters a lot.

Many labs pair a GHRH-type peptide with a ghrelin-receptor peptide to study how the two signals add up. Fasting state and time of day both change GH output, so keep them constant between groups.

Typical endpoints are serum GH at several time points, IGF-1, IGFBP-3, and body composition in longer studies. Some labs also track sleep, since GH release peaks in deep sleep.

Reconstitution math

The liquid you add sets the concentration. For a 2mg vial:

• 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 2mg/mL
• 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 1mg/mL

Add the water slowly along the inside of the vial and roll it gently until the powder dissolves. Shaking can damage peptide chains.

Keeping it fresh
