Description
MitoQ is a mitochondria-targeted antioxidant, and Pure Rawz sells it as a powder. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.
MitoQ explained
MitoQ (mitoquinone mesylate) is CoQ10’s ubiquinone attached to a triphenylphosphonium cation. The cation pulls it into mitochondria.
It was developed in New Zealand.
How it acts in research models
MitoQ’s positive charge pulls it across the mitochondrial membrane, where it builds up hundreds of times higher than outside. There it acts as an antioxidant and is recycled by the respiratory chain.
That targeting is why it works at much lower levels than plain CoQ10.
MitoQ research
Rossman and colleagues reported improved arterial function in older adults in 2018.
A Parkinson’s trial didn’t show a benefit.
The triphenylphosphonium cation is drawn into mitochondria by their negative membrane charge.

MitoQ sizes and forms
This listing is 1g of powder for $98.99.
Powder suits labs that want to make their own solutions or capsules. Weigh it on a milligram scale.
Study design notes
Nutrient research usually measures blood levels of the nutrient itself first, then the downstream markers, such as NAD+ levels, homocysteine, glutathione or inflammatory markers.
Baseline status matters a lot. Effects are usually larger in subjects that start out low, so measure it before exposure begins.
Typical endpoints are blood levels of the nutrient, the related enzyme activity, and the outcome you care about, such as sleep scores, muscle strength or oxidative stress markers.
MitoQ at a glance
- Compound: MitoQ
- Also known as: mitoquinone
- Class: mitochondria-targeted antioxidant
- Forms: powder
- Size: 1g
- Purity: 99% or higher, verified by first- and third-party testing
- Use: laboratory research only
How we test each batch
We test each batch for identity and purity before it ships, using HPLC and mass spectrometry, with independent third-party checks on top of our own.
The batch number on the label matches the certificate of analysis. If your lab keeps paperwork on file, ask us for it and we’ll email it over.
Keeping it fresh
Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.
Handling notes
Treat it as a lab chemical. Gloves and safety glasses are the minimum, and a clean, uncluttered workspace cuts down on mix-ups.
Store prepared solutions apart from untouched stock, and record who mixed what and when.
What you’ll need
- a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
- a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol
