Description

Our HEP-1 peptide is a human ezrin peptide, supplied for lab research. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.

What is HEP-1 peptide?

HEP-1 is a 14-amino-acid synthetic peptide, TEKKRRETVEREKE, taken from a region of ezrin, a protein that links the cell membrane to the actin skeleton.

It was developed in Russia and sold there as Gepon, studied mostly as an immune modulator.

How it works

HEP-1 is thought to modulate cytokine signaling, lowering TNF-alpha, IL-6 and IL-1 beta in inflammation models. The exact receptor hasn’t been confirmed.

Because it comes from ezrin, some researchers link it to signaling at the cell membrane where ezrin normally works.

Published HEP-1 peptide research

Russian studies reported anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects in animal models and small human studies, including work on gut and mucosal inflammation.

Western data are limited.

The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search to start from.

How labs use it

Bioregulator peptides are mostly studied in cell culture and in older animals, looking at gene expression, protein synthesis or tissue-specific markers. Most of the published work comes from Vladimir Khavinson’s group in Saint Petersburg.

Because independent replication is limited, labs that work with them tend to include a scrambled-sequence or vehicle control and measure their own markers instead of relying on earlier reports.

Short peptides are cheap to run in parallel, so many labs test two or three related bioregulators side by side in the same cell line.

How we test each batch

Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.

How to store HEP-1 peptide

Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Note the batch number and the date you opened it in your lab records.

Working with it safely

Wear gloves and eye protection when you open or measure it, and work on a clean surface.

Label everything you prepare, keep it away from food areas, and follow your lab’s rules for disposing of sharps and chemical waste.

  • Thyroidget: Thyroidget is a vendor name for a short synthetic peptide sold for thyroid-related research.
  • Thymogen (Thymagen): Thymogen is the dipeptide glutamyl-tryptophan (Glu-Trp), first identified as an active part of thymalin.
  • Retinalamin: Retinalamin is a complex of short peptides extracted from the retinas of cattle, developed by Khavinson’s group in Saint Petersburg.
  • CardioCytogen: CardioCytogen is a vendor name for a short synthetic peptide sold for heart-related research, in the same family as the cytogen and bioregulator peptides from Saint Petersburg.

How it compares

Cartalax: Cartalax is the tripeptide Ala-Glu-Asp, one of the short peptides linked in Khavinson’s program to cartilage and connective tissue.

Pinealon: Pinealon is the tripeptide Glu-Asp-Arg from Khavinson’s bioregulator program. It’s short enough that it’s thought to reach cell nuclei.

HEP-1 peptide questions

Does it come with a certificate of analysis?
