Description
Our TUDCA is a bile acid, supplied as capsules, a liquid and a powder. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.
About TUDCA
TUDCA (tauroursodeoxycholic acid) is ursodeoxycholic acid joined to taurine. It’s a natural bile acid, found in high amounts in bear bile.
It reduces endoplasmic reticulum stress in cells.
Mechanism of action
TUDCA reduces endoplasmic reticulum stress, the cell’s response to misfolded proteins, and blocks apoptosis signals in mitochondria. It also helps bile flow in the liver.
Those protective effects show up in liver, nerve and eye models.
Published TUDCA research
A sodium phenylbutyrate and taurursodiol combination was approved in the US for ALS in 2022, then withdrawn in 2024 after a larger trial failed.
Rodent studies look at liver, eye and brain protection.

Options and prices
It comes in 4 options. Pick one from the dropdown above the cart button:
- Capsules, 250mg per capsule/60ct/15g: $38.56
- Capsules, 500mg per capsule/40ct/20g: $51.44
- Liquid, 60ml/250mg per ml/15g: $67.49
- Powder, 15g: $37.76
The capsules are pre-filled, so each one has the same amount. The size option lists it per capsule.
The liquid is a ready-made solution. The concentration per mL is on the label, and a graduated dropper gives the most accurate measures.
Powder suits labs that want to make their own solutions or capsules. Weigh it on a milligram scale.
Using TUDCA in the lab
Labs working with supplements often run them in cell culture or animal diets, keeping the base diet identical between groups so the only difference is the added nutrient.
Record the form used, such as glycinate versus oxide for magnesium, because absorption differs between forms.
Keep the rest of the diet steady during a nutrient study. Changes in food intake can swamp a small supplement effect.
Measuring the liquid
At 250mg per mL, every 1mL holds 250mg and every 0.1mL holds 25mg. A graduated 1mL dropper or syringe makes those measures accurate.

Purity and batch testing
Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.
Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.
Storage and shelf life
Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Keep the bottle capped, upright and out of direct sunlight at room temperature unless the label says otherwise.
Note the batch number and the date you opened it in your lab records.
Safe handling
Wear gloves and eye protection when you open or measure it, and work on a clean surface.
Label everything you prepare, keep it away from food areas, and follow your lab’s rules for disposing of sharps and chemical waste.
Supplies to have on hand
- a graduated 1mL dropper or syringe for accurate volumes
- a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
- a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol
