Description
Our MK-677 is an orally active nonpeptide growth hormone secretagogue, supplied as capsules, tablets, a liquid, a powder and an injectable solution. Each batch is checked for 99%+ purity. It’s intended for research use only.
About MK-677
MK-677 (ibutamoren) is an orally active, nonpeptide growth hormone secretagogue developed by Merck. It mimics ghrelin at the GHS-R1a receptor, raising growth hormone and IGF-1. It’s often sold next to SARMs, but it isn’t one.
It was never approved as a medicine, and it’s on the WADA prohibited list.
How it acts in research models
MK-677 binds GHS-R1a, the same receptor as ghrelin and the GHRP peptides, in the pituitary and hypothalamus. That boosts the size of natural GH pulses and lifts IGF-1 from the liver.
Because it’s a small molecule, not a peptide, it survives digestion and lasts about a day, which is what made it attractive as an oral research tool. The same receptor drives hunger, so appetite goes up too.
MK-677 research
Nass and colleagues ran a two-year trial in healthy older adults, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in 2008. MK-677 raised GH and IGF-1 to levels seen in young adults and increased fat-free mass, with rises in fasting glucose noted.
Earlier Merck studies by Chapman and colleagues described how it raises GH while keeping the normal pulse pattern.

MK-677 sizes and forms
It comes in 8 options. Pick one from the dropdown above the cart button:
- Capsules, 20mg/60ct/1.2g: $129.99
- Tablets, 20mg/27ct/540mg: $64.99
- Tablets, 20mg/54ct/1080mg: $124.99
- Liquid, 15ml/17mg per ml/250mg: $27.99
- Liquid, 30ml/33mg per ml/1000mg: $109.99
- Liquid, 30ml/67mg per ml/2000mg: $214.99
- Powder, 1g: $109.99
- Injectable, 10ml/64mg per ml/640mg: $74.99
The capsules are pre-filled, so each one has the same amount. The size option lists it per capsule.
Tablets are pressed with a fixed amount per tablet, shown in the size option along with the count.
The liquid comes in a glass dropper bottle at a stated concentration per mL, so every draw is easy to calculate.
The powder is the bulk form, for labs that weigh their own amounts. Use a milligram scale for accuracy.
The injectable form is a sterile solution in a sealed vial at a stated concentration per mL.
Using MK-677 in the lab
GH-axis studies often look at IGF-1 as the steadier marker, since a single GH reading can miss a pulse. Cortisol and prolactin are worth measuring too, because some secretagogues raise them.
Run each peptide on its own before you test combinations, so you know what each one contributes.
Typical endpoints are serum GH at several time points, IGF-1, IGFBP-3, and body composition in longer studies. Some labs also track sleep, since GH release peaks in deep sleep.
Measuring the liquid
At 17mg per mL, every 1mL holds 17mg and every 0.1mL holds 1.7mg. A graduated 1mL dropper or syringe makes those measures accurate.

Quality and testing
Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.
Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.
Keeping it fresh
Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Store liquids at room temperature with the cap screwed on, away from heat and light.
Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.
Handling notes
Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.
Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.
Before you start
- a graduated 1mL dropper or syringe for accurate volumes
- a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
- a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol
