Description

Our N-Acetyl Larazotide is a tight junction regulator peptide, supplied as freeze-dried vials. Every batch is tested for 99% purity or better, and it’s sold for laboratory research only.

What is N-Acetyl Larazotide?

Larazotide acetate is an eight-amino-acid peptide, GGVLVQPG, based on a sequence from zonula occludens toxin. It was developed by Alba Therapeutics and later 9 Meters Biopharma for celiac disease.

The N-acetyl version adds a cap to the front of the chain to slow breakdown.

How it works

Larazotide is thought to block zonulin signaling, which loosens the tight junctions between gut lining cells. Keeping those junctions closed limits how much gluten and other material crosses the gut wall.

Cell culture work shows it reduces tight junction disassembly caused by gliadin and inflammatory signals.

N-Acetyl Larazotide research

Leffler and colleagues reported in Gastroenterology (2015) that larazotide reduced symptoms in celiac patients on a gluten-free diet. A later phase 3 trial was stopped in 2022 for lack of benefit.

It remains a standard research tool for intestinal permeability.

Choosing your option

This listing is a single 5mg freeze-dried vial for $59.99.

These vials are lyophilized powder. Mix them with bacteriostatic water when you’re ready to work with them, and keep unmixed vials cold until then.

Using N-Acetyl Larazotide in the lab

Labs studying tissue repair often compare peptides that act through different routes, such as blood vessel growth versus cell migration, to see whether combining them adds anything.

Photograph or measure wounds at fixed intervals with the same setup each time. It’s the simplest way to keep healing data comparable.

Typical endpoints include wound closure rate, tensile strength of repaired tissue, collagen deposition and new blood vessel counts on histology. Gut models often score ulcer size and lining thickness.

Reconstitution math

For the 5mg vial, the concentration depends on the volume of water:

  • 1mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5mg/mL
  • 2mL of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5mg/mL
  • 3mL of bacteriostatic water gives 1.67mg/mL

Add the water slowly along the inside of the vial and roll it gently until the powder dissolves. Shaking can damage peptide chains.

Purity and batch testing

Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.

Keeping it fresh

Freeze-dried vials keep best in the freezer, and a fridge is fine for a few weeks. Once reconstituted, keep it refrigerated and finish it within roughly 28 days. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.

Safe handling

Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.

Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.

Before you start

  • Bacteriostatic Water for reconstitution, or Sterile Water if you’ll use the whole vial at once
  • sterile insulin-type syringes or pipettes for measuring
  • alcohol swabs for the vial stopper

N-Acetyl Larazotide questions

What do I mix it with?

Most labs use sterile bacteriostatic water. Add it slowly down the side of the vial and swirl gently until the powder dissolves. Don’t shake it.

How should I store it?

Follow the storage section above. In short: cold and dark for freeze-dried vials, room temperature and dry for capsules, tablets, powders and liquids, unless the label says otherwise.

Is N-Acetyl Larazotide in stock?

Yes. It’s in stock and ships from our warehouse after your order clears.

Does it come with a certificate of analysis?

Yes. Every batch is tested, and we’ll email the certificate of analysis for your batch number on request.

Can it be used in people or animals?

No. It’s sold for laboratory research only and isn’t approved for human or veterinary use.
