Description

Pure Rawz 6 Paradol is a pungent ginger and grains of paradise compound, available as a powder. It’s tested to 99% purity or higher and sold strictly for lab research.

About 6 Paradol

6-Paradol is the pungent compound in grains of paradise (Aframomum melegueta) seeds, a West African spice related to ginger. It also forms from 6-shogaol in ginger.

It’s studied mainly for its effects on brown fat and energy use.

How it works

6-Paradol activates TRPV1, the same receptor capsaicin binds. That signal raises sympathetic nerve activity to brown fat, which turns on heat production.

It’s less pungent than capsaicin, which makes it easier to use in feeding studies.

Published 6 Paradol research

Sugita and colleagues reported in 2013 that grains of paradise extract raised energy expenditure and activated brown fat in men in cold conditions. Mouse studies showed less fat gain on a high-fat diet.

Human data are limited to a few small trials.

The primary literature is on PubMed. Here’s a search to start from.

Choosing your option

This listing is 1g of powder for $39.89.

Powder suits labs that want to make their own solutions or capsules. Weigh it on a milligram scale.

Study design notes

Botanical and mushroom research usually starts by checking the extract’s marker compounds, such as polysaccharides, alkaloids or flavonoids, then moves to cell culture or animal models of inflammation, immunity or metabolism.

Extracts vary by source and method, so labs keep to one batch through a study and record the standardization on the label.

Endpoints depend on the plant: immune markers and cytokines for mushroom beta-glucans, glucose and lipids for metabolic botanicals, or behavior tests for calming plants.

How we test each batch

Every batch is tested before it goes on sale. Identity is checked by mass spectrometry, and purity by HPLC, with a target of 99% or higher.

Each container is labeled with the product, the amount and the batch number. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate of analysis for your batch.

Storage and shelf life

Store capsules, tablets and powder in a cool, dry place out of direct light, with the lid closed tight. Label the container with the opening date. It saves guesswork later.

Safe handling

Handle it the way you’d handle any research chemical: gloves, eye protection and a clean bench. Don’t eat or drink where you work with it.

Keep it out of reach of anyone who isn’t trained, and dispose of used syringes, vials and wipes according to your lab’s waste rules.

Supplies to have on hand

  • a milligram scale, since powder has to be weighed
  • a suitable solvent if you’re making your own solution, such as DMSO or propylene glycol
